* Neighborhood Potluck! Saturday August 23, 2008 at 6:30 pm in the Jasmine Trail cul-de-sac. Bring a dish and the board is providing beverages. Hope to see you there!
*Due to the current water shortage, which prevents pressure-washing, the covenants against mold on vinyl siding will not be enforced until further notice. Please remember to conserve water wherever possible, and check this site for updates to the official rules for water use.

 FAQs
The Lavender Glen Homeowners Association Covenant Committee has created this document to help clarify and provide guidelines for some of the questions that are most frequently asked related to the covenants that govern our Neighborhood Community.
These questions are answered within this document:
- What are the objectives of the Neighborhood Covenants and why should I know about them?
- How often do I need to mow my lawn during the summer?
- My house has a small spot of mold on the vinyl siding, is it a problem?
- Am I allowed to park my car on the street in front of my house?
- Where should I keep my garbage cans between pick-up days?
- What types of changes to my house or property require approval?
- How should I request approval for the changes that I want to make to my house or property?
- What should I do if I have a concern about the enforcement of the Covenants throughout the neighborhood?
- When are my Homeowners Association Fees due and how do I pay them?
- Who should I contact if I have questions not answered by this list of FAQs?
- Question: What are the objectives of the Neighborhood Covenants and why should I know about them?
Answer: Our Neighborhood's Covenants were established to preserve our welcoming environment and to help protect homeowner investments. When we chose to join the Lavender Glen Community each of us agreed to abide by the Covenants to keep our neighborhood a nice place to call home.
- Question: How often do I need to mow my lawn during the summer?
Answer: There is no requirement for the frequency that you mow your lawn but, you must keep it well maintained and sightly. Generally, a height of no more than 4 inches is acceptable. Homeowners that routinely neglect the upkeep of their yards will be cited by the Board.
- Question: My house has a small spot of mold on the vinyl siding, is it a problem?
Answer: Vinyl siding requires a routine cleaning to remove the mold, mildew, and dirt that collects on it. Suggestions for the best ways to clean it can be found if you search the Internet or ask a neighbor. If the small spot is noticeable or if it grows to be a larger spot you may be cited.
- Question: Am I allowed to park my car on the street in front of my house?
Answer: According to our agreed Covenants the long term parking of vehicles in yards or on the streets within the Community is prohibited. Visitors vehicles and other parking for special occasions is permitted provided that the vehicle does not remain for more than a few days. In addition, all vehicles (automobiles, motor homes, boats, trailers, motorcycles, etc.) should be parked only within garages, driveways, or other paved parking areas located on a lot.
- Question: Where should I keep my garbage cans between pick-up days?
Answer: All garbage cans should be concealed from view of the street and neighboring property except on days of scheduled pick-up.
- Question: What types of changes to my house or property require prior approval?
Answer: According to the Neighborhood Covenants, the following list of items or projects require the written approval of the Covenant Committee before they are installed or started. When in doubt, contact the Covenant Committee (covenants@lavenderglen.org) to find out if your project will require approval.
- Architectural changes: (additions, porches, decks, pavings, etc.)

- Outbuildings (storage sheds, dog houses, gazebos, etc.)
- Lawn decorations (sculptures, fountains, benches, flags, shrines, etc.)

- Question: How should I request approval for the changes that I want to make to my house or property?

- Your name, address and phone number
- A full description of the changes that you want to make (measurements, location, colors, etc.)
