*Due to the current water shortage, which prevents pressure-washing, the covenants against mold on vinyl siding will not be enforced until further notice. Please remember to conserve water wherever possible, and check this site for updates to the official rules for water use.

Tip: Deer Repellant

Springtime means flowers and greeneries blooming all over our subdivision. Well, it's party time for the deer, too! Thus, we need to make sure that our plants are safe from the ravenous tummies of our "other" neighbors - the deer!

Jena Hart shared with us her secret of keeping her plants from becoming the lunch or dinner of the deer.

JERRY BAKER'S DEER BUSTER EGGNOG

2 eggs
2 cloves of garlic
2 Tb. Tabasco sauce
2 Tb cayenne pepper
2 cups of water

Put all of these ingredients into a blender and puree. Allow the mixture to sit for 2 days, then pour or spray it all over and around the plants you need to protect.

Jena also suggests chopping Irish Spring soap into chunks and putting them around plants. Deer are not very happy with the "fresh-from-the-shower-scent" of Irish Spring.
