Neighborhood Watch
Lavender Glen is a Neighborhood Watch community. This means that all residents should keep an eye out for suspicious activity, and should report anything that may be evidence of criminal activity. By remaining alert and looking out for each other, we can all work together to keep our neighborhood safe and secure.
Here are a few answers to common questions about the Neighborhood Watch program:
Q: Who should I call to report suspicious or criminal behavior?
A: When in doubt, call 911. We have checked with the ACC police on this, and they have confirmed that we are welcome to call 911 if there is any suspicious activity going on. They would rather check on a possible problem and have it turn out to be nothing, than not be called and have something bad happen.
Q: Who should I call if I have a question about Neighborhood Watch, ACC Police Department policies, or other general questions?
A: For Neighborhood Watch questions, call or email:
Katie Jones
ACC Neighborhood Service Officer
(706)613-3358 ext. 230
katiejones@co.clarke.ga.us
For general police questions, we may also contact:
Lt. James Williams
West Precinct
(706)353-4218 ext. 115
Q: What is Reverse 911, and how can I sign up?
A: Reverse 911 is a service offered by the ACC Police Department, where members of a Neighborhood Watch community such as ours can sign up to be notified whenever there is 911 call in our area. This allows our residents to be aware of incidents that take place, and to know what kinds of problems to look out for.
To sign up for Reverse 911, please call, or email your address and phone number to:
Katie Jones
ACC Neighborhood Service Officer
(706)613-3358 ext. 230
katiejones@co.clarke.ga.us
Q: Our neighborhood is a no-soliciting area. What should I do if I see solicitors in the area?
A: According to the police, if solicitors are operating in our neighborhood, we should call 911 and tell them that there are people going door to door in the neighborhood, and that it is a non-soliciting neighborhood. The police will come out and verify that the solicitors have the appropriate business licenses, and ask them to conduct business somewhere else.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact the Homeowners Association at board@lavenderglen.org.
